The School

Towards the end of 2022, the estates project manager for Shaw Education Trust, Mr. David Kershaw made an enquiry with us for a large outdoor covered area to protect the students from undesirable weather conditions whilst still allowing them to enjoy the outdoor area of their playground.
The Requirement was to provide a large outdoor covered area, primarily for use as a seating & dining area. After aquiring a few photos of the area from Mr. Kershaw, we were able to identify the ground surface as tarmac & that there would be no existing infrastructure for us to work around.

Design

From our perspective, this made the project incredibly straightforward. Proposing the Double Curved Roof design (based on our Premium Linear Curved Roof Canopy) to Mr. Kershaw, he was more than happy to confirm his acceptance of our design.
By taking advantage of our generous "Schools Only" payment terms, Tottington Academy were able to place their order in full confidence that they wouldnt pay a penny until the canopy was installed and ready to use.

Installation

Following placement of the order, we began to manufacture the canopy at our centrally located workshop in Mansfield. Taking note of our earlier observations regarding the tarmac ground surface, we designed this canopy with an additional 300mm to the support posts which would allow for a secure root fixed installation, and within 5 weeks the canopy and our installation team had arrived at Totting High School ready to be installed.

The installation process took 3 men just 5 working days to fully complete, including all associated groundworks.
